Description
Shubh and Labh — auspiciousness and gain — are traditionally written on the two panels of a doorway at Diwali, one word on each side, so that Lakshmi reads them as she enters. This hanging carries that convention in pearl and parrot detailing.
The parrot has been a fixture of Indian decorative art for centuries, tied to affection and good fortune, and appears on everything from miniature paintings to wedding invitations.
Hang either side of the main door, or at the mandir entrance. Handcrafted, so beadwork varies slightly between pieces.
