Neel Nazar Shubh Labh Beaded Hanging

Nazar — the eye that watches for envy. Worked in blue beads, which is not decorative preference: blue is the colour used for protective eyes from Turkey through West and South Asia, and the convention has held for millennia.

Hang it where the household is seen from outside — the main door, a balcony, a shop entrance. Its purpose is to be looked at first.

Beaded by hand; small irregularities in the beadwork are inherent to the technique.
